On the last day of Term 2, Montgrove celebrated its first Saint Josemaria Day, inspired by the Catholic saint who inspired our beautiful school as well as many other similar schools around the world. https://opusdei.org/en-au/article/who-was-josemaria-escriva/

We began the special celebration with Holy Mass. The students then enjoyed a much anticipated Fundraiser Sausage Sizzle run by our Year 12 parents and students. A huge thank you to Mrs Blazic, Mr and Mrs Wilkinson, Mr Armour and Mrs McDonald! The sausages were very much enjoyed by the staff and students, who very quickly ate them up!

The teachers and staff also enjoyed a special treat. A special thank you to Mr Tapang for making the delicious churros and hot chocolate, which were served by Mrs Abacum and Montgrove Old Girls Kate T and Eva L from the class of 2021.

The day ended with Secondary students running fun activities for the Primary students based around the life and message of St Josemaria. They played games such as Sleeping Donkey, their version of Duck Duck Goose (Jose Jose Maria), and a Scavenger Hunt.

It was a great way to end a very busy term and more importantly, to spread the message of what St Josemaria was about, making the ordinary things extraordinary because we do them well for the glory of God. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
