We commenced Term 2 with our annual Anzac Day Service, graced by the presence of Mr Tony Fryer, Honorary Secretary of the St Mary's RSL Sub Branch, and Mrs Leslie Ayres. Students prepared decorations in Term 1 and during the school holidays to prepare for the event.
The Anzac Day Service at Montgrove College is a cherished tradition, bringing together students, staff, and special guests for solemn reflection. Mr Tony Fryer, a former Australian Army serviceman, shared touching reflections on the significance of Anzac Day. His personal experiences emphasise the importance of remembering and honouring those who have served our country. Mrs Leslie Ayres brought her own perspective and appreciation for the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.
We'd like to express our gratitude to Mr Fryer and Mrs Ayres, for teaching us about sacrifice and valour. The Anzac Day Service at Montgrove College serves as a powerful reminder of the values the school upholds, such as compassion, gratitude, and remembrance. The event allows the community to come together and express deep appreciation for past and present service members. Lest We Forget.
