I hope all our families enjoyed a restful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for what is always one of the busiest and most exciting terms of the year.
Although Term 4 is a short one, it is packed with important milestones and opportunities for learning and growth across all year levels.

Our Year 12 students began the term by sitting their HSC examinations. A milestone that reflects their years of learning, dedication and support from their teachers and families. I am incredibly proud of the way our students have approached their studies and handled this challenging time with maturity and resilience. We wish them all the very best as they complete their exams and take their next steps beyond school.

This week, our Year 10 students are undertaking their yearly examinations. In Week 5, they will embark on their Work Experience program. An invaluable opportunity to gain insight into the world of work and explore potential career pathways. We look forward to hearing about the many ways they will learn, grow and contribute during this experience.

Next week, our Years 7 - 9 students will commence their own examinations. We encourage all students to approach these assessments as opportunities to reflect on their learning, identify areas for improvement and celebrate their progress throughout the year.

Our Year 11 students have now transitioned into their Year 12 courses. A significant milestone that marks the beginning of their final year of schooling. We wish them every success as they embark on this exciting stage and we look forward to supporting them along the way.

On Monday the 20th of October, our Year 11 Business Studies class hosted their much anticipated Market Day, showcasing a variety of food stalls as part of their coursework. It was wonderful to see their entrepreneurial skills in action, from planning and marketing to customer engagement and teamwork. Even more inspiring was their decision to donate all profits to a charity of their choice, demonstrating both social responsibility and community spirit. Congratulations to the students and Mrs Mani for such a successful and meaningful event.

We also are delighted to announce our newly elected Captain and Vice-Captain for 2026, Charlotte Aldous and Francesca Filamor. We wish them every success and blessing as they take on their leadership roles and continue to inspire our community in the coming year.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our 2025 Captain, Maya Hoffman and Vice-Captain, Clarissa Lapid for their exceptional leadership, dedication and service throughout the year. Their commitment has been an inspiration to their peers and a testament to their strong sense of responsibility and school spirit.

As students prepare for and complete their exams, we remind all parents of the importance of maintaining healthy study routines at home. Supervision of device use during study time is vital to ensure technology serves as a tool for learning rather than a distraction. Encouraging regular breaks, balance and plenty of rest will also help students perform at their best.

Term 4 always brings a sense of energy and anticipation as we look towards the end of the year. A time to consolidate learning, celebrate achievements and reflect on personal growth.

As we journey through this busy term, we continue to pray for all our girls, that they may find strength, peace and purpose in their studies and daily lives. May Our Lord and Our Lady guide and bless each member of our community watching over our students, staff and families with love and care.

As the month of November is upon us, which begins with All Saints Day, we can think a bit more about life after death, that is, about eternity, and particularly about helping the souls Purgatory, by our everyday prayers and actions.

Here is a good piece of advice, then, from Saint Clement, one of the first popes, in a letter he wrote to the early Christians:

"Let our children share in the instruction which is in Christ, let them learn the strength of humility before God, the power of pure love before God, how beautiful and great is his fear and how it gives salvation to all who live holily in it with a pure mind. For he is a searcher of thoughts and desires; his breath is in us, and he chooses when to take it away from us."

Kindergarten to Year 6 parents are invited to attend Montgrove’s Primary Christmas Concert.  Details are as follows:

Date: Wednesday 3rd December

Time: 5:30pm

Venue: Montgrove College COLA.

Our theme this year is Christmas Around the World to acknowledge the beauty of the diverse cultures of our school community in the way we prepare for the birth of Jesus.

Due to limited capacity in the COLA, we are allocating 2 tickets per family. The tickets will be distributed closer to the concert date. In the event that you have spare tickets, please feel free to share them with other families in your class who might like to use them. As always, here at Montgrove, the safety of our community is of utmost importance. Thank you for your kind understanding in this matter.

On the day, students will go home as they normally do when school finishes. They need to arrive back at school at 5pm already dressed in their costumes . They will then proceed to their classrooms where their teachers will be supervising them until the end of the concert. At the end of the concert, parents are asked to promptly collect their child/children from their classrooms. Kindly let the teachers know you are taking your child, so that their names can be marked off the class roll.

On Tuesday 11th November, our newly appointed School Captain, Charlotte Aldous and Vice Captain, Francesca Filamor attended a local Remembrance Day Commemorative Service at the RSL Guns War Memorial, in St Marys.

During Term 2 and 3 we were accepted to participate in an art program called Penrith Open Studio. This program was a great opportunity to expand our knowledge of art. With the help of mentorship from Australian artists we experimented using different art materials such as ceramics, natural inks, plaster etc. Additionally we had the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery of NSW during the holidays to gain inspiration for our final pieces. We had many sessions to prepare for our exhibition titled ‘Organised Chaos’. We used different mediums and techniques to create our final piece which were exhibited from late September to early November along with all the other pieces belonging to our artmates from other schools.
